I’ve finally hit 10 pounds lost! For a little over 2 weeks I’ve been totally Vegan and it’s been good to me. Granted I had my moments where the chicken has been calling my name, but I’ve been working through it and it’s finally paying off with a 10 pound loss on the scale.

Some people are asking me...so I will post it...
They are asking me why I am eating vegan...
I highly recommend reading it if you want to become a vegetarian or vegan or just want to know the truth about what you put in your body. However I will say that if you want to continue to eat meat and dairy and see that as a good thing... ignorance truly must be bliss.
I will not call myself a Vegan...I am just adapting a vegan lifestyle..Yes I love animals...but this was not my main reason. I did it for the healthy option of eating more veggies and fruits and losing weight ...and as I read the book Skinny Bitch...it made me never want to eat meat again! After I finished it, i found myself so disgusted by the meat/dairy industry. So much so that vegan seems to be the way to go...not only due to animal cruelty but also for overall health. I am losing weight...and it was not coming off before as it is now. I don't knock anyone who eats meat...I did so for 37 years of my life...Its your choice...I just hate when I tell people I am eating Vegan and they offer me MEAT!!! It burns me up inside.

This is why I don’t call myself a vegan. I just strive to eat a vegan diet. I don’t eat this way for ethical reasons, I do it because I feel better when I do and the weight comes off easier!!
Today I have come up with fitness goals for myself...and the time is now to push the start button....
Day 1: Do at least one hour of aerobic activity. I will do an evening walk, go swimming, or anything else which gets my heart beat elevated. Aerobics burns a lot of calories which is my main objective in my per week efforts.
Day 2: I will do one hour of strength exercises. I will go to the gym or at home, I can still do an effective workout. Do some pushups, crunches, squats, or dumbbells or even my strength bands.
Day 3: One hour of aerobics, the same as day 1.
Day 4: Take some time off from physical activity to allow your muscles to rest.
Day 5: The same as day 1.
Day 6: One hour of strength training. Make sure you work at least 2 muscle groups.
day 7: The same as day 1.
Lets see how this goes for me and how I do this week...I did however make goal!!! GOOOOO MEEEEE!!! 4.8 pounds...almost five. I am pushing for five this week.
Breakfast I had Trader joes Meatless Corn dogs...they were absolutely almost like eating the real deal...I am not kidding!!
For lunch I had a Tofu burrito...but I took it out of the tortilla and put it into a bowl and ate it that way.
I almost forgot...last night went to Pf Changs they had this dish called Ma Po Tofu...I had this with brown rice...its was off da chain...that means delicious...lol I have been watching my portions so I only ate about 6 of the delicious tofu and like six of the broccoli and about a third cup of the brown rice and I was full!! It was made from the silken tofu not the firm i cook at home...so it was a little soft for my taste, but still good. It was tossed in a mildly spicy, well-seasoned Szechwan sauce and surrounded with steamed broccoli florets...I would definately order this again!!!

I am awakened with a new sense of being. I know that Monday when I weigh in I have lost that two other pounds to reach goal....
Lunch: Tofu fried with olive oil and cocktail sauce...tasted kinda like shrimp...had this also for dinner last night with some chickenless chicken nuggets from Trader joes.
Fried Tofu
I put six of the nuggets in the oven and they turned out perfect. The breaded crust was slightly crispy, and the texture and taste were both very close to real nuggets. They are a step above most fast food nuggets. I wouldn't hesitate to get these again.
Dinner to be announced!!!

I could not resist...
Got on the scale today...I am down another two pounds...WOO HOO!!!
I have two more to go for my goal for the week
What I’m doing...
I have begun eating more raw fruits and vegetables. Using my balance ball more, and I am going to sit on it when I watch television at home. I have begun walking at least a mile every day, and will walk more during my breaks at work each day. Using my resistance bands and weights to start building more muscle mass. Gradually get into more challenging exercise like running as I lose more weight.
Breakfast: Tofutti pizza
Lunch: Veggie Plate from the barbecue place...they have to comp me a free one today as they messed up my plate yesterday...Free is good!!!
We had a personal trainer come into the office yesterday...he was very informative....here is one on the excercise ball...

Thanks to this book...I have lost four pounds this past week on my Vegan Journey. It has not been as hard as I had thought to give up meat. Also with the girls motivating me with our biggest loser contest at work...it makes it easier for me to stay accountable with my tasks....My goal for this week is four more pounds...Let's see if I can do it...!!!!!

I read this somewhere today and wanted to share...
it was a statement a guy made in a forum...something his doctor told him
Being overweight is like having a dead twin you carry around with you all the time-you are sharing a single heart, same lungs and kidneys...it is hard to lose part of yourself, but the extra lbs you carry is truly dead weight.
Guess its time to get the surgery, (which is... excercise & Diet) to get the twin seperated ...I do believe so!!!
